About The Dog Tutor

Elta Woodliff holds a master’s in counseling and is a nationally Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT.)  She has been training dogs for fun and competition for more than 20 years.

She has experience in obedience competition, conformation (known as the breed ring) and was a dog handler for the DeSoto County Search and Rescue Unit.

She is currently the volunteer training director for the Tennessee Women’s Prison PAWS program at the Mark Luttrell Correctional Center in Memphis.  She is a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT.)

At The Dog Tutor’s facility, the emphasis is on teaching your dog manners for use in the real world.  The real joy of being a dog owner comes from spending time with your canine friend.  This may take the form of competitive sports such as agility or flyball or obedience competition, or it just may be hanging out together.
